How to spot reward app scams

Published 2026-10-10

Most reward app scams follow the same script: a fast-growing balance you can never withdraw.

The red flags

1. Guaranteed daily income. 2. A fee or 'tax' to withdraw. 3. Withdrawal minimum that keeps moving. 4. Recruiting is the main way to earn. 5. No company details. 6. Requests for card or PayPal passwords. 7. Pressure and countdown timers.

If you were scammed

Stop paying, contact your bank or card issuer, and report it to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov (US) or your local authority.
